HollywoodLife.com has seen the script for Miley’s upcoming flick, Family Bond, and we have to say -her character is pretty badass!
Miley Cyrus is the poster child for modern day teens, playing tough, wise beyond her years characters in films like The Last Song and LOL: Laughing Out Loud. But now the 17-year-old starlet is bringing some new game to the table and moving beyond the drama genre to become an action star!
HollywoodLife.com has obtained a copy of Family Bond, a film which Executive Producer Adam Siegel’s office confirms the Hannah Montana actress is attached to (note: she hasn’t signed her contract on the dotted line yet) – and we have to say this is one heck of a star-making role! In fact, after showing her tough side in this film, Kristen Stewart may even have some stiff competition for Angelina Jolie’s part in Wanted 2!
Family Bond is the story of big-mouthed, single-parent teen Chloe, who, after discovering her mother has been kidnapped, is forced to track down the dad she never knew. DAD happens to be Matt Cooper, a CIA agent who’s whip-smart, hot and a hit with the ladies – who happens to be playing a tutor during an undercover assignment in the Cayman Islands. DAD is also not especially pleased to see the daughter he never knew existed!
However annoyed he may be at her presence, Chloe turns out to be an asset – and helps Matt beat the bad guys! Not only does she distract security guards by taking her top off and playing a dumb, helpless blond — but she even (SPOILER ALERT) KILLS A MAN who’s about to kill her dad. Um….aw?
Of course, there’s love in Family Bond, too. Miley needs a love interest, after all. Grant Hopkins is the 17-year-old son of the Governor, and described as “just starting to come into his looks.� He’s got a thing for Chloe – but the two really don’t engage in any hanky panky.We do know that Miley will probably have a thing for the guy who plays Grant in real life, as she seems to have a thing for co-stars like Liam Hemsworth and Douglas Booth.
This sounds like a pretty kick-butt role for Ms. Miley — and we hope she signs on! For a final thought – how cool would it be if Tom Cruise played her dad???

Disney Aug. 17 released on disc the romantic Miley Cyrus drama The Last Song, which earned $63 million in theaters, while Summit bowed the Brendan Fraser comedy Furry Vengeance, which earned $17.6 million theatrically.

The top sales position for the week ended Aug. 22 should be an easy solo act for The Last Song, while the top rental for the week should be Fox’s Date Night, for the second consecutive week. Furry Vengeance, with its lower box office performance, should debut around No. 5 on the sales chart.

Ready to be drowned in teenage comedy stereotypes? I hope so because according to Coming Soon, LOL has officially gone into production. Just a month ago we got a taste of what’s to come when we first heard that Twilight’s Ashley Greene joined the cast. Major adolescent draw. Also on board? The teen queen herself, Miley Cyrus. Even with Demi Moore’s name on the roster it’s still quite tempting to dismiss this one off as a formulaic high school drama. The official synopsis doesn’t help, but the new additions to the cast might.

In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes and Facebook, Lola (Cyrus) and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola’s mom, Anne (Moore), “accidentally” reads her teenage daughter’s racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown. Through hilarious and heartfelt moments between mother and daughter, “LOL” is an authentic coming-of-age story for the way we live now.

Lola’s high school inner-circle includes Kyle (Booth) – Lola’s BFF, whom she realizes is her love interest; Lola’s two best friends Janice (Esco) and Emily (Hinshaw); Max (Sevani) – a nerd that Emily secretly hooks up with; Lola’s ex-boyfriend and Kyle’s best friend Chad (Finn); Lloyd (Watson) who is part of their crew; and Ashley (Greene) – the sexy girl who has set her sights on Kyle, much to Lola’s dismay. Thomas Jane plays Alan, Anne’s ex-husband and Lola’s father. Jay Hernandez plays James, a dangerously cute, good-natured cop dating Anne who is able to offer a little perspective on her teenage daughter. Austin Nichols plays Mr. Ross, the heartthrob math teacher, who all the girls have a crush on. Marlo Thomas plays Gran, Anne’s sophisticated mother whose relaxed demeanor allows her to be the easy-going bystander when it comes to watching Anne raising children of her own. Sources tell Action News that one of the biggest Hollywood productions of the year is moving to Birmingham next week.

LOL: Laughing Out Loud stars Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus, Thomas Jane and Ashley Greene. It’s about a girl named Lola who navigates high school while dodging her parents in the age of Facebook, YouTube and iTunes.

However, things go south when Lola’s mom, Anne, “accidentally” reads her racy journal. Cyrus plays Lola, while Moore plays Anne.

The movie has been filming around Detroit since July 20. Moore was spotted just before filming at a Garden City karaoke bar with Gerard Butler, who is in Detroit filming Machine Gun Preacher.
